Everyone experiences pain differently. Pain may come on suddenly (acute). Chronic pain can last for months or years. \n \nPain relievers go by many names: \n \nAnalgesics. \nNarcotics. \nPainkillers. \nPain medicine. \nWhat are the types of pain relievers? \nThere are many different types of pain relievers. The best one for you depends on many factors, including the cause of pain and its severity. \n \nTypes of pain relievers include: \n \nOver-the-counter (OTC): These medications are available at stores. Any adult can buy them. \nPrescription: These medications are only available with a prescription from a healthcare provider. Prescription painkillers provide stronger pain relief. They treat severe or chronic pain. \nWhat are the types of over-the-counter pain relievers? \nCommon OTC pain medications include: \n \nAcetaminophen: This drug (Tylenol®) dulls pain receptors in the brain. As a result, you feel less pain. \nNonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs): NSAIDs lower the production of prostaglandins. These hormone-like chemicals irritate nerve endings, causing inflammation and pain. NSAIDs include aspirin compounds (Excedrin®), ibuprofen (Advil® and Motrin®) and naproxen sodium (Aleve®). \nCombination: Some pain relievers contain both acetaminophen and aspirin (an NSAID). Certain OTC headache medicines also have caffeine. \nTopical: You apply this pain medication directly to your skin. It comes as a cream, gel, spray or patch. Topical medicines block pain receptors in the brain. They may contain aspirin, lidocaine, capsaicin pepper or other medication. Some topical treatments make the skin feel warmer or cooler. Common brands are Aspercreme® and Ben-Gay®. \nWhat do over-the-counter pain relievers treat? \nOTC pain medications lower fevers and ease pain from a variety of problems, including: \n \nArthritis, bursitis and tendonitis. \nBack strains and sprains. \nBroken bones. \nBurns, including sunburns. \nColds, flu and ear infections. \nHeadaches and migraines. \nMenstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea). \nMuscle pain, including neck pain. \nSurgeries and minor procedures. \nToothaches. \nWhat are the types of prescription pain relievers? \nPrescription pain medications provide stronger pain relief than OTC drugs. Types of prescription pain relievers include: \n \nAntidepressants: Antidepressants work on chemicals called neurotransmitters in the brain. These drugs work best for chronic pain, including migraines. The largest pain relief comes from tricyclics (Elavil®) and serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs), such as Effexor® and Cymbalta®. Studies show that selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) like Prozac® don’t work as well for pain. SSRIs may make other pain medicines less effective. \nAnti-seizure medications: Medications for epilepsy interrupt pain messages to the brain. Types include gabapentin (Gabarone®) and pregabalin (Lyrica®). These medicines can ease nerve pain and fibromyalgia. \nMuscle relaxers: These medications reduce pain by relaxing tight muscles. They also relieve muscle spasms. \nOpioids: Opioids are lab-made narcotic pain medicines. They change how your brain perceives pain messages. Because they can be addictive, healthcare providers rarely prescribe opioids for chronic pain. You may take opioids for a short time after a surgery or traumatic injury. Codeine, fentanyl, hydrocodone and morphine are all opioids. \nSteroids: Corticosteroids are strong anti-inflammatory drugs. Like NSAIDs, they stop your body from making chemicals that cause irritation and inflammation. Steroids such as Prednisone® treat migraines and severe arthritis and back pain. \nTopical: Your provider can choose among prescription-strength skin creams, gels, sprays and patches. They can ease muscle pain, arthritis and fibromyalgia. Types include lidocaine (Lidoderm®) skin patches. \nWhat do prescription pain relievers treat? \nPrescription pain relievers can alleviate pain brought on by: \n \nCancer. \nFibromyalgia. \nMigraines. \nNerve (neuropathic) pain, including diabetes-related neuropathy. \nPostoperative pain. \nSevere arthritis pain. \nSevere muscle pain, including back pain. \nTraumatic injuries, including broken bones and burns. \nRISKS / BENEFITS \nWhat are the potential risks or complications of over-the-counter pain relievers? \nOTC pain relievers are relatively safe when you follow the directions on the label. Acetaminophen and NSAIDs can be hard on the liver and kidneys. You shouldn’t take them if you have kidney disease or liver disease. \n \nAcetaminophen risks: \n \nThe risk of liver damage from acetaminophen is higher if you take more than 3,000 milligrams in a day. You may also develop liver problems if you combine the drug with alcohol. \n \nAspirin risks: \n \nChildren under 18 should not take aspirin. It can cause a life-threatening illness called Reye’s Syndrome. Give other NSAIDs instead. \n \nNSAID risks: \n \nExcept for aspirin (which thins the blood), prolonged use of NSAIDs can increase your risk of heart attacks and strokes. People with existing heart problems or high blood pressure are most at risk. If you need NSAIDs for more than 10 days , see your healthcare provider. \n \nNSAIDs can also increase your risk of: \n \nBruising and bleeding. \nStomach upset, including bleeding in the stomach and peptic (stomach) ulcers. \nSkin reactions, such as rashes or blisters. \nWhat are the potential risks or complications of prescription pain relievers? \nPrescription painkillers are powerful drugs. They carry a higher risk of problems than OTC medications. \n \nOpioids can be addictive and lead to substance abuse. To lower this risk, healthcare providers only prescribe opioids for short-term use. For example, you may take opioids for a few days after surgery. \n \nPrescription medications for pain may cause side effects, such as: \n \nBlurred vision. \nConstipation. \nDry mouth. \nFatigue. \nHeadaches. \nInsomnia. \nMood changes. \nNausea. \nUrination problems. \nWeight gain. \nAre pain relievers safe during pregnancy? \nStudies suggest that acetaminophen is safer to take during pregnancy. Taking NSAIDs or opioids during early pregnancy may increase the risk of birth defects. \n \nIf you had a cesarean section (C-section) birth or a difficult labor and delivery, you may need pain relief. Let your provider know if you plan to breastfeed. Certain opioids are safer for nursing babies. OTC pain relievers are safe to use while nursing. \n \nWHEN TO CALL THE DOCTOR \nWhen should I call the doctor? \nYou should call your healthcare provider if you are taking pain medicine and experience: \n \nVision problems, including blurred vision or drooping eyelids. \nSigns of urinary tract infection (UTI), such as blood in urine (hematuria). \nShortness of breath (dyspnea). \nTrouble swallowing. \nSlurred speech. \nNumbness or paralysis in an untreated area. \nSevere stomach upset. \nA note from Cleveland Clinic \n \nPain relievers can bring a welcome break from aches and discomforts. You can find acetaminophen and anti-inflammatory drugs in a lot of OTC products. These include medicines for allergies, colds and flu. It’s important to read the labels to make sure you don’t get too much of a pain medication. Many nonaddictive pain medicines are available for chronic pain. About PANTOQ-DSR Capsule 10’s

\n
\n \nPANTOQ-DSR Capsule 10’s is composed of two medicines, namely: Domperidone and Pantoprazole. Domperidone is a prokinetic and anti-nausea agent that helps to treat indigestion and stomach pain. On the other hand, Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that reduces the excess stomach acid formation by blocking the actions of an enzyme (H+/K+ ATPase or gastric proton pump). PANTOQ-DSR Capsule 10’s is a widely used medicine to treat peptic ulcers and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). PANTOQ-DSR Capsule 10’s prevents the release of stomach acid and relieves symptoms of food pipe lining inflammation (esophagitis), and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), or heartburn. \n \nDomperidone works by increasing the movement of food through the stomach and the digestive tract more quickly and in this way reduces the feeling of bloating, or fullness and indigestion. On the other hand, it effectively blocks the action of a vomiting centre (chemoreceptor trigger zone – CTZ) located in your brain, that is responsible for inducing the feeling of nausea and vomiting. Pantoprazole helps in reducing the stomach acid by blocking the actions of an enzyme (H+/K+ ATPase or gastric proton pump). This proton pump lies in the cells of the stomach wall responsible for the release of gastric acid secretion damaging tissues in the food pipe, stomach, and duodenum. \n \nPANTOQ-DSR Capsule 10’s can be prescribed to the adults and children aged 12 years and over. It is better to take PANTOQ-DSR Capsule 10’s an hour before a meal. PANTOQ-DSR Capsule 10’s should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, crush, or break it. Avoid intake of PANTOQ-DSR Capsule 10’s for more than four weeks of duration without consulting the doctor. You can increase the efficacy of PANTOQ-DSR Capsule 10’s by taking a small meal or snacks frequently. Try to avoid caffeine-containing beverages (coffee, tea), spicy/deep fried/processed foods, carbonated drinks, acidic foods like citrus fruits/vegetables (tomatoes). \n \nLike all medicines, PANTOQ-FSR Capsule 10’s may cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The most common side effects of PANTOQ-DSR Capsule 10’s are diarrhoea, stomach pain, flatulence (gas), dryness in the mouth, dizziness, and headache. Everyone doesn’t need to experience the above side effects. In case of any discomfort, speak with your doctor. Prolonged intake of Pantoprazole is associated with a low level of Vitamin B12 and low magnesium. Hence yearly test of Vitamin B12 and magnesium is required if you are taking PANTOQ-DSR Capsule 10’s for the long term. Use of PANTOQ-DSR Capsule 10’s is contraindicated in people with lupus (autoimmune inflammatory disease). \n \n

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

\n
\n
    \n
  • Avoid intake of acid or heartburn-triggering foods or drinks like onions, peppermint, chocolate, caffeinated beverages, citrus fruits or juices, tomatoes and high-fat and spicy foods.
  • \n
  • Before going to sleep, try to raise your bedhead so that your head and chest are higher than your feet. Do not use piles of pillows; one raised block is fine. This will not allow the stomach acid to backflow through your food pipe.
  • \n
  • Avoid taking alcohol and smoking cigarettes. Alcohol can raise the level of production of stomach acid leading to heartburn and acid reflux. On the other hand, nicotine smoking damages the valve (sphincter), which prevents backflow of the stomach acid back into the food pipe.
  • \n
  • Include high fibre-containing foods, berries, cherries, leafy green veggies (kale, spinach) and black peppers in your meal. These foods are full of antioxidants, calcium and vitamin B 12 that can help cope with the long-term effects of the medicine. Fermented dairy products like miso, sauerkraut, and kimchi contain probiotics which help prevent excess stomach acid production. Cranberry juice can be beneficial for peptic ulcers and H Pyroli infection.
  • \n
  • Avoid regular sitting continuously, as it can increase stomach acid production. Take a break of 5 minutes in 1 hour by brisk walking or stretching.

About ROBIQ-DSR Capsule 10’s

\n
\n \nROBIQ-DSR Capsule 10’s is a gastrointestinal medicine composed of Rabeprazole (stomach acid reducer) and Domperidone (nausea/vomiting reducer). Together they reduce the amount of acid your stomach makes and decrease the symptoms of nausea and vomiting. It treats symptoms of acid reflux due to hyperacidity, stomach ulcer (Peptic ulcer disease), and Zollinger Ellison syndrome (overproduction of acid due to a pancreatic tumour). Besides this, it is used short-term to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) symptoms. GERD is a condition in which the sphincter (valve) located at the uppermost part of the stomach gets irritated and damaged due to excessive stomach acid production. As a result, the stomach acid and juice flow back into the food pipe, leading to stomach upset and heartburn. Heartburn is the post-effect of acid reflux with a burning-like feeling that rises from the stomach towards the neck. \n \nROBIQ-DSR Capsule 10’s contains two medicines, namely Rabeprazole and Domperidone. Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that helps reduce stomach acid by blocking the actions of an enzyme (H+/K+ ATPase or gastric proton pump). This gastric proton pump lies in the cells of the stomach wall. It is responsible for releasing gastric acid secretion and damaging tissues in the food pipe, stomach, and duodenum (uppermost part of the small intestine). On the other hand, Domperidone is a prokinetic agent that increases the motility of the upper gastrointestinal tract and blocks the vomiting-inducing centre (chemoreceptor trigger zone-CTZ). \n \nIt is better to take ROBIQ-DSR Capsule 10’s an hour before a meal or without a meal for its best results. ROBIQ-DSR Capsule 10’s should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, crush, or break it. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early, your symptoms may come back, and your condition may worsen. An adult taking ROBIQ-DSR Capsule 10’s might have common side effects like headache, diarrhoea, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, flatulence, dizziness, and arthralgia (joint pain). In the case of children taking ROBIQ-DSR Capsule 10’s might report upper respiratory tract infections (URI), headache, fever, diarrhoea, vomiting, rash, and abdominal pain. These side effects are temporary and may resolve after some time; however, if this persists, contact the doctor. \n \nYou can increase the efficacy of ROBIQ-DSR Capsule 10’s by taking a small meal or snacks frequently. Avoid caffeine-containing beverages (coffee, tea), spicy/deep-fried/processed foods, carbonated drinks, and acidic foods like citrus fruits/vegetables (tomatoes). Tell your doctor if you have stomach or intestinal cancer, liver problem, are allergic to ROBIQ-DSR Capsule 10’s or will have an endoscopy in the future. Prolonged intake of ROBIQ-DSR Capsule 10’s may cause deficiency of Vitamin B-12 and low levels of calcium, magnesium, and Vitamin D leading to osteoporosis (brittle or weak bones). \n \n

Tenepure M 500 Tablet 10’s

\n
\n \nTenechek M 500 Tablet 15’s belongs to the group of medications called ‘antidiabetic agents’ used to treat Type 2 diabetes mellitus. This medication improves glycaemic control in diabetic patients in those patients who do not react well to Metformin alone.  Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic or life-long condition in which blood sugar or glucose levels rise more than normal. It occurs when the body does not produce enough insulin (metabolizes glucose), or if produced, it cannot function properly in the body. \n \nTenechek M 500 Tablet 10’s is a combination of two medicines, namely: Metformin and Teneligliptin. Metformin comes into the category of medications known as ‘biguanides’, and it acts by decreasing liver glucose production and intestinal glucose uptake. On the other side, Teneligliptin works by stopping the action of the dipeptidyl Peptidase 4 enzyme, which in turn increases the insulin levels in the body and reduces the glucagon levels. All of these actions reduce sugar levels in the body. \n \nTenechek M 500 Tablet 10’s is available in oral tablet dosage form. You should take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. You may experience side-effects of such as nausea (feeling sick), vomiting (falling sick), diarrhea, headache, stomach ache, respiratory infection, weight gain, sweating, palpitations, and vision problems. Some patients experience decline in blood sugar levels lower than normal (hypoglycemia), resulting in sweating, dizziness, headache, confusion, feeling hungry, temporary changes in vision, uneasiness, irritability, and weakness. In such cases, seek medical attention immediately. \n \nDo not take Tenechek M 500 Tablet 10’s if you are allergic to any of its contents. Do not use this medicine if you have heart failure, bladder cancer, or diabetic ketoacidosis (a complication of diabetes). Tenechek M 500 Tablet 10’s may cause ‘lactic acidosis’ (accumulation of lactic acid in the blood), which requires immediate medical attention. The risk increases if you are previously diagnosed with kidney or liver diseases. Do not consume alcohol (risk of lactic acidosis) or fast for prolonged periods (risk of hypoglycemia). Also, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. \n \n

\n \nUBCLAV 625 is a combination of Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid which belongs to the group of medicine called Antibiotics. It is indicated for the treatment of various infections like respiratory tract infections (Ex. adequately diagnosed community acquired pneumonia, chronic bronchitis), middle ear and sinus infections (Ex. acute otitis media, acute bacterial sinusitis), urinary tract infections (Ex. pyelonephritis or cystitis), skin and soft tissue infections (Ex. cellulitis, animal bites, dental infection) or bone and joint infections (Ex. osteomyelitis) caused by suspected drug- resistant bacterial strains in both adults and in children (weighing not less than 45 kg). Bacterial infections can be defined as a proliferation of various harmful strains of bacteria in the body. They can affect any part(s) of the body including the respiratory tract, urinary tract, eyes, ears, skin, soft tissue, or bones. \n \nAmoxicillin is a penicillin-like antibiotic that acts by inhibiting the biosynthesis of a protective layer called peptidoglycan in the bacterial cell wall and clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that acts by the reducing resistance for amoxicillin by inhibiting the activity of an enzyme called beta-lactamase in the bacterial cell. Collectively they interrupt the construction of the bacterial cell wall and ultimately lead to the destruction, or lysis, of the bacteria. \n \nTry to take this medicine with or just after a meal or a snack to avoid feeling sick (nausea). Your doctor will decide the correct dose for you depending upon your age, body weight, health condition and type of infection. During the therapy your doctor might recommend you have several tests to monitor your kidney and liver function to rule the risk of unwanted side effects. Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems. UBCLAV should be used with caution in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking. The most common side effects of taking this medicine are diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and stomach upset. Consult your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen. \n \n

HOW CLAVAM WORKS

\nUBCLAV kills the growth of harmful bacteria, where amoxicillin acts by inhibiting the biosynthesis of the peptidoglycan layer (a layer which is responsible for the survival of the bacteria) of the bacterial cell wall and clavulanic acid acts by restoring the antimicrobial effects of amoxicillin by deactivating an enzyme called beta-lactamase (which is responsible for causing resistance to various standard beta-lactam antimicrobials) in the bacterial cell. Collectively they interrupt the construction of the cell wall and ultimately lead to the destruction, or lysis, of the bacteria. \n \n
